If the grace of God is how I live (which it is!) then NETWORKING IS LIKE BREATHING.
Someone once said, I think it was the author of Thou Shalt Prosper Daniel Lapin, that business is one of the greatest mediums there is for giving and receiving love. And the same author would tell you that, whether we have a manager, or whether we “work for ourselves”, we are our own little company. (Mine could be God’s-Man-Rick & Co.) The thing is, so that You & Co. can be in business and stay in business, You & Co. will need to create wonderful and universally beneficial communications with all of the other little Joshua & Co.’s and Rosa & Co.’s out there, and Pat Harper will give you great tools to do just that.
Definitely attend this week at all costs. This is high octane fuel for your search. Forget all of the negative stereotypes of NETWORKING and all of the gross and “leechy” approaches you’ve ever either used or experienced. CTW networking is much more like finding ways to bring value to others, and bless them, which is, of course, one of the best ways to advertise yourself!
More on this later, but this is way more than just bragging. For now, think of it this way: You have spent serious effort identifying the thing that you do better than others. People you want to do business with (including all those potential bosses out there) need to know what they are, because they want to hire those people. And those people doing what they are best at will be happier, work more effectively, stay longer, be the most valuable — and enjoy the best pay.
It is to everyone’s benefit if you put your best foot forward. Put another way, everyone benefits if you promote yourself. And I mean EVERYONE.
