2016-03-31 – The ‘In Courage’ Newsletter — Accepting the Axe
If you are reading this letter, you may have one of two opportunities:
1. You just received this letter from a friend, who wants to help you find work.
2. You are starting a session with Career Transition Workshop.
Maybe you have been “launched into a new destiny” (i.e. “laid off”). Maybe you feel a real need to do something… BETTER.
When I was let go, I honestly wondered about a lot of really painful things. I supposed that I would find something, maybe, but the real pain came from having no idea how to keep from having this happen again. And again.
So someone at church encouraged me to check out Career Transition Workshop.
I think the worst thing about pain is the fear of living with the injury.
Career Transition Workshop was like learning how to get first class medical care, physical therapy, and bionic legs.
You know those five job search-related references that you have to log weekly in order to receive that unemployment check? Career Transition Workshop took me from struggling to get 5 references to logging at least 20 a week — that’s how much better I got at getting in touch with people that might want to trade their money for my skills. (It worked, too!) We’ll have an entire week dedicated to Networking. But, for now…
Come join us, and let’s get started on what is much more than just YOUR GREAT COME-BACK!
Romans 8:28 And we know that God causes all things to work together for good to those who love God, to those who are called according to His purpose. New American Standard Bible (NASB)
Next Week: “Career Choices and Consequences”
Learn basic decision models designed to simplify the complex choice of “now what?”
It is the glory of God to conceal a matter,
But the glory of kings is to search out a matter. (Proverbs 25:2)
Funny saying? It made sense to Solomon, so let’s run with it. Back in Biblical times, a “king” was someone who exercised authority over country and people, and searching out a matter — figuring out what to do about something — was more than just a big deal; it was a crucial job requirement!
Your “kingdom” may be much smaller than Solomon’s, but you may have more authority than you think! Visit with us next week, and find out just how much more authority you have.
That’s it for this week. And may the God of hope fill you with hope!
All the best,
Career Transition Workshop
