The ‘In Courage’ Newsletter — “Interviewing Rehearsal: Practice, Practice, Practice”
• • •
And what I mean by that is… Well, to start with — well, maybe I’ll start at the end:
Sometime in the very near future, you will find yourself working, and if you went 13 months between full-time and full-time as did I — Oh so glad to be working!!!
Anyway, at this time, you’ll be doing fine just fine, and you will have SUCCESSFULLY done exactly what we are going to practice this week:
— THE INTERVIEW —
The Interview, that all-important gateway to where you want to be, that key logical and emotional argument for you-want-what-I-have-and-let’s-talk-about-me-doing-it-for-you.
You want to do more than “survive” the interview — you want the interview to work great things for you, and, by the way, for all the people you might do work for.
Come this Thursday ready to learn brand new things about The Art of Interviewing.
And, now, imagine that it is the job of everyone at your table working with you to help turn the interview from a scary junk yard dog into AN OPEN DOOR! You’ll learn so much more than just how to handle yourself!
Sometimes these highly interactive workshops were a little daunting. Being “between full time and full time,” as I called it was really not fun, and I felt like I wanted to just find a table and hide or something. Half the time my sweet wife practically shoved me out the door. So, from that, I got three things:
(1.) I was always glad, later, for having decided to go.
(2.) I could learn some amazing stuff, even when I had been to a given presentation three times before. And,
(3.) God was doing more in my life to help me than I knew about at the time.
So, come and join us!

Next Week: “Win-Win Negotiations: How to Close the Deal”
Yeah, I know, the work “Win-Win” has been just a teensy bit over-used — yeah, I saw that commercial… “Win-win!”
OK, now that’s all done, I can’t think of anything that really describes this like:
This is super-important, though — getting it right, that is.
And getting this right was a big reason why I was able to blow through some pretty high odds to find work.
It’s hard for me to relate, naturally anyway, to phrases like, “Close The Deal”, but I can relate to “Bringing Something To The Table”, and this week will help you be the one to do this.
That’s it for this week. May the God of hope fill you with hope.
All the best,
Career Transition Workshop
