The ‘In Courage’ Newsletter: “Networking Strategies: How to Net Work from Your Network”
A man’s [or woman’s] gift makes room for him [or her]
And brings him [or her] before great men.
But how about your great gifts?
If you have been with us since this started you have been doing the hard work of identifying the things that you do best. I’ll bet that you found out that identifying your gift, or gifts, it’s not as easy as it may have sounded. It’s a process. But you have taken a real bite out of the task of “Find out who you are”.
In doing the “Find out who you are” task, you have also been able to better identify what kind of company, job, and boss would most benefit from “who you are”. That’s good, because, now, you’ll know them when you meet them. And they will be the ones most likely to appreciate you — and that will feel very nice!
But how to get the two of you connected? How do we connect people who need each other? If you were both your own little islands, we could build a bridge. Then you both could walk back and forth, have the opportunity to communicate, and maybe end up doing things together.
It would no longer be a problem if all the Shipley’s Donuts are all on one island and all of the Espresso with bittersweet mocha sauce and steamed milk are all on the other island. Where there used to be a problem, NOW there’s a deal ready for the making!
This week, we’re going to learn how to get those bridges built. You may even find some surprises. Come and join us. (And keep an eye out for the Nine Nifty Nuances.)
Next Week: “Interviewing Tactics: How to Promote Yourself”
You have spent serious effort identifying the thing that you do better than others.
People need to know what those “better things” are, because they need to know *why* they should hire you! People doing what they do best are happier, more effective, and more valuable — and they enjoy the best pay and the best jobs!
Everyone wins if you put your best foot forward and promote yourself. And I mean EVERYONE.
And now, may the God of hope fill you with hope — and see you Thursday night!
That’s it for this week. And may the God of hope fill you with hope!
All the best,

P.S. Here is the site where you can find additional handouts: http://ctw.site44.com/
NOTE 1: Do not use the “www” in the address.
NOTE 2: site44 is a free service that stops periodically when there is too much traffic, so don’t leave accessing it to the last minute.
NOTE 3: If Windows Internet Explorer does not bring up the CTW site, try Mozilla FireFox, or Google Chrome. Sometimes the site down for maintenance. If so, try it again a little later.
P.S. I really apologize for not getting last week’s newsletter out. I was out in San Diego doing some more involved networking for my business, and I allowed my existing schedule plus the 14-hour days distract me from you.
