2015-07-30 The ‘In Courage’ Newsletter — THIS WEEK: “Networking Strategies: How to Net Work from Your Network”
Network-building relationships can yield the highest return on your investment of time! Learn how to market yourself by applying the Nine Nifty Nuances.
Let me throw something out to you. Not too long ago, a man named Zig Ziglar (yeah, that’s his real name) said this:
“You can have everything in life you want, if you will just help other people get what they want.”
The simple fact is this: If you want to make that happen? You have to get know some folks. Pretty quickly, too. Introvert? Too bad. But not *too* bad, because you don’t need to be loud and rowdy to get to know folks.
It’s like farming — say what? Farming. I mean, I am no farmer, but I Googled the basics. The wheat that makes bread really *does* grow wild, but folks like lots and lots of bread, so they get whole bunches of wheat to grow all in one place. So they take wheat, which grows naturally out with the weeds, and make a special concentrated thing out of it — called a wheat field.
If I haven’t totally lost ya’ll so far, that’s Networking. We take relationships, which occur naturally in the wild, and, well, “concentrate” them. The cool thing about these relationships? You’ll soon realize you’re part of someone else’s wheat field also. And it’s a good thing.
How to get all this going? Come and join us on Thursday.
Next Week: “Interviewing Tactics: How to Promote Yourself”
Understand the six steps of the interview process. Learn the tools and techniques to apply and improve your chances of positioning yourself as the ideal candidate.
More on this later, but this is way more than just bragging.
For now, think of it this way: You have spent serious effort identifying the thing that you do better than others. People you want to do business with (including all those potential bosses out there) need to know what those things are, because they want to hire those people.
People doing what they do best are,
(2.) Work more effectively
(3.) Stay longer,
(4.) Are the most valuable
(5.) Enjoy the best pay.
So it is to everyone’s benefit if you put your best foot forward. Put another way, everyone benefits if you promote yourself. And that means EVERYONE.
That’s it for this week. And may the God of hope fill you with hope!
All the best,
