The ‘In Courage’ Newsletter: “Search Management: How to Make the Most of Your Time”
Scripture says, “Be careful how you walk, not as unwise men but as wise, making the most of your time” (Eph. 5:15ab). Learn to include both pro-active and re-active job search techniques to attack the public and hidden job markets.
Two quotes from Benjamin Franklin:
1. “Dost thou love life? Then do not squander time, for that is the stuff life is made of.”
2. “Well done is better than well said.”
Time is a tricky thing. You can create ideas. You can make someone smile. You can even create wealth, so that, after you’re done, if you add up everyone’s wealth, there is actually more of it.
But you can’t create time. You can only use it well — or waste it. At least the sum of matter and energy is always the same, but a moment lost is simply gone. In the flicker of an eye it disappears into the past, where it will remain, helping you or hurting you, but never reusable of recyclable.
And, “Well done is better than well said.”
Words are important, but, especially if there is something you need, like income, you want to make your time do something for you. It’s like good intentions; the best good intentions are those most likely to get results. You want your time to count.
Many of us feel that we face a real challenge in finding the wisest use of our time. For some of us, it’s a real struggle, either to use time well, or even to know if we actually ARE using time well.
No matter how well you think you are doing, you can get something out of, “Search Management: How to Make the Most of Your Time”. Come and join us.

Next Week: “Networking Strategies: How to Net Work from Your Network”
NETWORKING IS HOW I FOUND WORK AGAIN — AND NOT ANY WORK, BUT BETTER WORK!
It’s true, the grace of God is how I get EVERYTHING.
But if the grace of God is how I live (which it is!) then NETWORKING is like BREATHING.
Definitely attend this week at all costs. This is high octane fuel for your search.
• Your greatest single resource, and
• The thing most often neglected.
CTW-style networking is finding ways to bring value to others, and bless them, which is, of course, one of the best ways to advertise yourself!
I have listened to this presentation many times, and I am still getting things out of it.
That’s it for this week. And may the God of hope fill you with hope!
All the best,
